Disney is in the early stages of designing the look for the classic Main Street’s Market House for when Starbucks comes in next year, said Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman. The Market House will temporarily close for renovations sometime next year and re-open with Starbucks products in late 2013, according to the O.C. Register.
So does this mean there will be no more free coffee refills at the Market House? One annual passholder isn’t happy about that. Ginger Miller, of Chatsworth, said she is upset about the prospect of Disneyland changing Market House, especially the possibility of halting the free refills. She started a Facebook page, “Save Free Coffee Refills at Market House Disneyland.”
Miller reported on her Facebook page that “On 11/30/12 I bought coffee at the Market House and was informed by the cast member that there would soon be no more refills, as Disneyland would be closing the Market House in order to have Starbucks in the park. I am asking all who love this tradition to write to Disneyland. It is sad to see such a wonderful tradition be put aside for commercialism.”
