A woman died Friday evening in an accident while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster at a Six Flags amusement park in North Texas, authorities said, according to Fox News.
The accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington. Park spokeswoman Sharon Parker confirmed that a woman died while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster but did not specify how she was killed. However, witnesses told local media outlets that the woman fell, according to USA Today.
According to Dallas News, the victim’s name was Rosy Esparza and this was her first trip to the Six Flags park.
Witnesses said that Esparza was concerned about the restraint on the roller coaster, which was a lap bar. There was no over the shoulder harness.
Disneyland has had its share of fatal accidents too over the years, which you can read about here.
