ANAHEIM, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2014) – Southern California residents can “show their Disney side” in 2014 as the Disneyland Resort once again presents a ticket offer especially for them, with options for two or three days of fun and adventure at the parks – all at special prices. To explore all there is to do at Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park, Southern California residents may purchase a 2-day ticket with their choice of one park per day for just $129, a 2-day Park Hopper ticket for just $164, a 3-day ticket with their choice of one park per day for just $159, or a 3-day Park Hopper for just $194. Disneyland usually stays open late on New Year’s Eve and offers extra entertainment, usually including live performances, an extra parade and fireworks. These festivities are included in regular park admission, according to Mouse Savers.

The lounge in Disney California Adventure’s Carthay Circle Restaurant has made some changes in its menu. The biggest change is the addition of two item items: Queso Fundido for $14 and a flatbread pizza for $18. The second biggest change is an upward trend in prices. Several items, such as the $11 Santa Monica deviled eggs, cost $1-$3 more than they did a year ago. Now everything costs $11 or more, with butchers plate of meats, dried fruits and nuts topping the list at $19, according to the Press Enterprise.

LA Daily News reporter Linda Fields Gold gushed over Disney’s gourmet Carthay Circle restaurant, at California Adventures, in a recent article that was published on April 20, 2013. But I don’t think she looked them up on the Orange County Health Agency’s Restaurant Inspection website.
Fields Gold reported that “The creative talent behind Carthay Circle is Andrew Sutton, executive chef of the Napa Rose. While the Napa Rose is true to Northern California Wine Country taste, Sutton said he wanted Carthay Circle to pick up the “warm flavors and brighter heat” of Southern California. He has worked the past few years with chef de cuisine Gloria Tae, who describes her style as “California Rustic with Asian accents.” They concentrate on using locally grown, locally raised ingredients and sustainable seafood.”
She then went on to describe their dishes, which to be honest sounded great. But it looks like she didn’t know about the Orange County Health Care Agency’s inspection of Carthay Circle, on April 17, 2013. Here is what they found: Continue reading
