The Dark Side of Disney is a new unauthorized documentary film inspired by the bestselling book, which has become known as the “anarchist cookbook of Disney travel guides.” It will premiere at the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana, California on Sunday August 16th at 4:30PM, coinciding with the D23 Expo, the world’s largest Disney Convention.
The opening scene is a conversation between the director and his mother talking about how she scattered his grandmother’s ashes in the moat of Cinderella castle at Walt Disney World. Inspired to find other Disney fans who, like his mom, take their Disney passion to extreme lengths, the filmmaker travels to Orlando to investigate what causes certain Disney fans to cross the line over to the dark side. JUVENILE CORRECTIONS OFFICER ON FAMILY VACATION TO DISNEYLAND CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF COCAINE AND LOADED FIREARM
FULLERTON – A juvenile corrections officer was charged today with possession of cocaine and a loaded firearm after leaving both in a hotel room he checked out of during a family vacation to Disneyland. Robert Dandrea Minor, 51, Hercules, CA, is charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison. The defendant is not in custody and the People will be requesting he be held on $25,000 bail at his scheduled arraignment on July 29, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. in Department N-3, North Justice Center.

RunDisney today announced its newest running event: an Avengers half-marathon weekend at the Disneyland Resort in California. The November event will be the third annual running weekend at the Disneyland Resort, joining the Disneyland, according to Theme Park Insider
In honor of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” coming to theaters April 4, guests at Disneyland park in Anaheim will soon have the opportunity to meet the First Avenger in person. Captain America will be dropping in to Disneyland park starting this spring, where you can also experience continuing favorites Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries and Thor: Treasures of Asgard, according to the Disney Parks Blog. The Three Kings Day tribute marks the grand finale of “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!,” a fun and festive event that has been presented throughout the holiday season with a colorful street party, merry music and traditional Mexican foods.
Three Kings Day, also known as Dia de los Reyes Magos, has been celebrated for generations by the people of Spain, Mexico, Central America and other nations, as part of the Christmas story. Do you remember this story – “A local family filed a lawsuit Monday against Disneyland over claims of racism. In August 2012, Annelia Black and her family took a trip to Disneyland to celebrate her nephew’s birthday. Upon entering the gate, the White Rabbit — a character from “Alice and Wonderland” — greeted the family,” according to ABC 10 News.
The lawsuit was quietly settled this past July, with nary a media peep, according to the OC Weekly. Black family lawyer Daniel Gilleon would only confirm the case was settled, citing a confidentiality agreement. Continue reading
Disneyland usually stays open late on New Year’s Eve and offers extra entertainment, usually including live performances, an extra parade and fireworks. These festivities are included in regular park admission, according to Mouse Savers.
This year the fireworks show is an opportunity to “celebrate beginnings of all kinds with the unforgettable “Ring in the New Year” fireworks spectacular,” according to Disneyland’s website. Continue reading
