Angels partner for ACT initiative in Anaheim

ANAHEIM — The Angels have teamed up with the Anaheim Ducks and the Disneyland Resort as founding members in the Accelerate Change Together for Anaheim initiative, a new, collaborative program that helps to address gaps in services for the city’s underserved youth.
Earlier this year, the Disneyland Resort funded the Anaheim Youth Services Assessment, which highlighted areas of need for residents of Anaheim — California’s 10th largest city — ages 5 to 18. That prompted the Disneyland Resort to develop ACT Anaheim, where the three organizations have committed $3 million over three years in funding for a multi-year grant program. Continue reading

FORMER DISNEYLAND EMPLOYEE CONVICTED OF POSSESSION OF DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE AFTER TWO EXPLOSIONS IN THEME PARK OF WATER BOTTLES CONTAINING DRY ICE
FULLERTON – A former employee of Disneyland was convicted and sentenced today for possessing a destructive device after two water bottles containing dry ice exploded in a Toontown trash bag and vending cart. Christian Isaiah Barnes, 23, Long Beach, pleaded guilty to a court offer to one misdemeanor count of possession of a destructive device. He was sentenced to 36 days in jail, three years informal probation, 100 hours of community service, and ordered to stay away from Disneyland.
At the time of the crime, Barnes was an employee at Disneyland in Anaheim. Continue reading
Thor – from “The Avengers” and the upcoming movie “Thor: The Dark World” – is coming to Disneyland park this on November 1!
Astrophysicist Jane Foster, who established a special relationship with Thor, has been studying the “Bifrost,” a cosmic bridge that allows Thor to travel between the Nine Realms, including Earth. She has determined that the Bifrost is set to open again in Southern California and pinpointed the precise location as Innoventions at Disneyland park, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Adios lame Innoventions!
There are amazing changes coming to Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, according to MiceChat, that include getting rid of the lame People Mover, Innoventions and Autopia and brining in the Millennium Falcon and the Tatooine Cantina.
Yes folks – Star Wars land is coming to Tomorrowland. Now I don’t think they will drop the name, but rest assured this will be a Star Wars land, for the most part.

Bob Michels and his family were headed to Disneyland when they witnessed a horrific fiery crash in Oxnard, on Saturday, according to CBS News. Bob actually jumped a fence onto the Carmax lot where a truck that drove off the highway was burning – and he pulled the driver out of the truck.
Bob’s daughter Amy shot a video on her cell phone that the huge fireball that engulfed the truck. You can watch video of the crash here. Continue reading
